Dr. Cydd’s Museum of Time

Dr. Cydd’s Museum of Time

Artist: ASH (Mark R. Watson)
Medium: Oil on Wood Panel
Collection: Spunone Productions

Exposition
In Dr. Cydd’s Museum of Time, ASH paints an old forest elder who seems connected to the world around him. Thick layers of oil create his lined face, crooked hat, and worn clothes, giving the figure a real, lived-in feel.

He stands on a stone path that winds through a group of earth-covered homes with circular windows, making them look like they are part of the landscape rather than just placed on it. A glowing orb on his staff provides a warm light, casting amber reflections on stone, cloth, and mist. This light contrasts with the cooler glow coming from the distant mountains.

The “museum” in the title isn’t just one building; it’s the entire village — a place where every surface shows the marks of time. Dr. Cydd resembles a keeper of stories more than a wizard; his smile and stance indicate both mischief and deep familiarity. Through rich texture and depth, ASH creates a world where time is not just in objects but in the way the place has been experienced.
